Membership
We have 165 members who are quite diverse, spanning generations and ethnicities. During monthly coffees and cocktail parties, lasting friendships are formed as we continue to have fun together.
Our organization started in 1929 and through the years has grown into one of the most active counties in the state. Through member volunteerism, we fundraise and distribute nearly $125,000 annually to local charities that improve the health and well-being of Sonoma County.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Hello SCMA-Alliance members. My name is Meta Lightfoot; wife of Dan Lightfoot, MD, ophthalmologist. I have been an Alliance member for 28 years and have been actively involved for the past eight years. I have worn the hat of different roles in the Alliance, starting out with Board Secretary, then Membership Chair and eventually, for two years, co-Chaired our annual Garden Tour. I have enjoyed my experiences, making new friends and admire what our Alliance stands for – funding good health in Sonoma County.
As President of the Alliance, my focus will be on membership this year. I would like to thank you for your past membership to the SCMA-Alliance. We are grateful for the support of our members like you. Your membership helps strengthen the foundation of local medical families through community service, social connection and professional networking.
This year the Alliance Program Chairs, Christine Huebner-Beakes & Charlene Staples have put together a diverse range of membership programs and events. There are many opportunities for individuals, couples and families to connect with one another. I encourage you to check out the exciting list of upcoming events on our website: www.scmaa.org There are a number of ways to get involved with the Alliance and of course it is okay to show your support with your membership dues alone.
