Books

Local area author Sandy Baker will be selling her delightful children's garden boo, Mrs Feeny and The Grubby Garden Gang. If you love gardening, you'll enjoy reading this book with your children or grandchildren.

Stephen Albert leaves no stone, leek, or potato unearthed in his amazing field guide, The Kitchen Garden Grower's Guide: A practical Vegetable and herb garden encyclopedia. He'll be selling his maual to everyone from greenhorns to old hands to weekend gardeners to chefs.
These authors have generously offered to donate 15% of their profits on books sold at The Garden Tour to the Sonoma Medical Association Alliance Foundation.
Door Prize

Don't forget to fill out your Door Prize information on the back of your Program and leave it at any garden reception table for a chance to win this year's Door Prize, a Garden Bench (18" high, 59" long, 18"wide) donated by Absolute Statuary and Fountains, Inc. This is their 18th consecutive year of donating our door prize!
Grocery Bags
The California Medical Association Alliance Foundation is underwriting the cost of the reusable grocery bags that will being given to each ticket holder.




Musicians
As you stroll through the garden, please take a moment to enjoy the delightful music presented by some of our local and very talented musicians. Each day we will feature different musicians, including instrumentalists and vocalists.
Friday
- 10-12 Elisa Colbert: harp
- Elisa is 19 years old and has been playing the harp since age 13. She has played harp in various orchestras and musical groups such as the Santa Rosa Youth Orchestra and the Occidental Community Choir but is currently spending her time focusing on college and teaching music. Elisa also plays the violin, piano, and sings on a regular basis with fellow musicians.

12-2 Très Winds Woodwind Trio: clarinet, flute, bassoon
- Très Winds is a woodwind trio that will entertain you with a variety of music, from classical to contemporary, by composers you know and others you’ll meet.
- Kathrin Williams has played flute in chamber music and jazz groups at Sonoma State University and Santa Rosa Junior College. She has performed with pianist Sonia Tubridy at Coffee Catz and a Casual Concert. Kathrin enjoys singing with the River Chorus, attending chamber music workshops, and performing locally.
- Neil Herring, a retired labor lawyer and English teacher, has played clarinet with various chamber music ensembles and community orchestras. He studied clarinet with Roy Zajac, Principal Clarinet in the Santa Rosa Symphony.
- Michael Tallman, a pianist since the age of 11, has only recently come to the bassoon. He has performed with the Baroque Sinfonia and various other chamber ensembles. Michael resides in East Santa Rosa, where he is an ardent gardener and nature observer.

- 10-12 Bellamor String Quartet
- 12-2 Plein Air
- The Plein Aire Recorder Consort has been playing Renaissance, Medieval, Baroque and some modern music since 2004. Dan Lapsansky learned to play recorder in high school, and has been performing all styles of music since the 1980's. Dale Celidore and Nancy Kesselring have been students of Joanna Bramel Young. They have been friends and recorder players in the West County for more than 20 years. In 1995, Ellen Johnsen saw a consort of recorders play at a Renaissance Faire and knew that was the music for her! The group performs for gallery openings and events, wineries, garden tours, Renaissance Faires, private parties and school demonstrations. They concertize regularly. - 2-4 Quartetto Ragazzi: string quartet from Windsor Middle School
- Quartetto Ragazzi is a string quartet comprised of four students from Windsor Middle School string program. John Quitangon plays first violin, Xavier Herrera-Keehn plays second violin, Travis Galvez plays viola and Ben Cullen plays cello. These young musicians have already made a name for themselves playing at pro-bono and paying gigs. They will all be attending Windsor High School next year.
Master Gardeners
For several years we have been fortunate to have members of the Sonoma County
Master Gardeners available to answer your gardening questions. These volunteers come well prepared with intensive prior training, experience, and plenty of reference books and handouts. Go to the Master Gardeners' website http://www.sonomamastergardeners.org for the latest information on drought tolerant gardening, lawn alternatives, California native plants, and habitat gardening; gardening book reviews and a vegetable and plant of the month; calendar of free library series gardening lectures and workshops; the top-30 All-Star Plants for Sonoma County, and tips for monthly garden chores. The Sonoma County Master Gardeners, a volunteer organization of the University of California and the Sonoma County's Cooperative Extension program, provides timely science-based horticultural information to home gardeners.
